(The Entertainer ) is a publisher of discount books for restaurants, beauty spas, hotels and leisure destinations. The Entertainer originated in Dubai in 2001 and now has books in Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Cyprus. The Entertainer published 14 books in 2012, each valid for one year. The Entertainer is privately owned and has offices in Dubai, Singapore, Saudi Arabia and South Africa. The books cost between AED 295 ($80) and AED 395 ($100). The company's main competitors are daily deal websites such as Groupon and LivingSocial. Consumers can buy the books direct via the entertainer website or in many stores throughout the Middle East including Carrefour, Virgin Megastores, Borders Books, Lulu, Spinnys, Geant, Choithram, WH Smith, Gulf Greetings and Kinokuniya. In early 2012, Abraaj Capital announced their purchase of 50% of the Entertainer. In March 2012, the Entertainer announced a significant investment from Abraaj Capital’s small to mid cap investment arm – RED Investments. ==Business Model== The Entertainer recruits restaurants and leisure destinations to sign up for the scheme each year. Each restaurant is allocated three buy one get one free vouchers in the appropriate book. The buy one get one free must be on a main meal if a restaurant, admission if a leisure destination or on specified treatments if it is a spa or salon. The Entertainer model is to keep vouchers simple and flexible for the end user. The Entertainer aims to achieve win win for the venue and end user – the venue wins customers and the customer gets a great deal. The venue discounts the bill on payment by the appropriate amount. The Entertainer generates revenue through sale of the books, advertising and premium positions in the book. 抄文引用元・出典: フリー百科事典『 ウィキペディア(Wikipedia)』 ■ウィキペディアで「The Entertainer (discount publisher)」の詳細全文を読む スポンサード リンク
